Please join us on for the Network of Neighbors Acute Trauma Responder Training on the following days*:

Monday, June 13, from 1:00pm-5:00pm (registration and lunch from 12pm-1pm)

Tuesday, June 14, from 8:30am-5:00pm

Wednesday, June 15, from 8:30am-5:00pm

*Full attendance is required to become a Trauma Responder.


This training, led by Dr. Robert Macy of the International Trauma Center, will equip attendees to support individuals and communities after incidents of violence. The training will cover the following models for responding to acute trauma:

  • Psychological First Aid—an evidence-informed approach for assisting children, adolescents, adults, and families in the aftermath of disaster and terrorism and

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Management—a community-based acute trauma response intervention to be utilized in the wake of community violence

Trauma Responders who attend the full training will be trained to offer group supports that do the following:

  • Support the natural, human tendency to group together, seeking solace and safety after traumatic incidents

  • Reduce acute traumatic stress common among survivors

  • Refer to and access community based resources as needed

By registering for this training, you are agreeing to support your community as a responder for the Network of Neighbors.



Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Will CEUs be provided for the training?

Yes; 13 training hours of IACET CEUs will be available for those who complete the entire training.

Do I have to attend the entire training?

Yes. In order to be credentialed as an Acute Trauma Responder for the Network, you must attend the full training. We understand that not everyone has this kind of flexibility in their work schedule, and in the future, we hope to offer a training outside of traditional business hours.

Will food be provided at the training?

Yes. We will be providing a continental breakfast and lunch for trainees.

If I have already been trained in Psychological First Aid (PFA), do I need to attend this section of the training?

Yes. This PFA training has been designed especially for Acute Trauma Responders with a specific focus on developing skills to support individuals and communities impacted by violence.
